Erin Andrews has always been a sports girl — even back to the days of schoolgirl crushes.
Andrews appeared on the “Late Show With David Letterman” on Monday night, and the FOX Sports reporter revealed that her childhood crush was a prominent sports figure.
Andrews grew up in Springfield, Mass., in a house full of girls with a father who had always wanted a son. Andrews told Letterman that her father instilled a love of Boston sports in her, and the first guy she had a crush on was none other than Boston Celtics Hall of Famer Kevin McHale.
McHale was part of one of the league’s best front lines along with Larry Bird and Robert Parish, leading the Celtics to five NBA Finals appearances and three NBA championships in the 1980s. McHale is now head coach of the Houston Rockets.
