Donald Sterling never will set foot in Staples Center again.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver announced Tuesday a lifetime ban for the Los Angeles Clippers owner after racist remarks that Sterling recently made. Sterling also will be fined $2.5 million, the maximum amount allowed under NBA bylaws.
Several prominent figures took to Twitter to express their opinions on Sterling’s punishment. They were led by NBA legend Magic Johnson, who became the center of the story when his Instagram photo with Sterling’s girlfriend, V. Stiviano, drew the Clippers owner’s ire.
