The Tennessee Titans released running back Chris Johnson on Friday after they were unable to trade him, but that’s not because of a lack of interest.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Johnson drew interest from four teams, including three from the AFC East. No, not the New England Patriots.

While a trade for Johnson never developed, the New York Jets still are interested, a league source told ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini.
While Johnson appears to be on the tail end of his career, he still could be of value to a team if his recent surgery to fix a torn meniscus doesn’t create any problems. And while it’s unlikely he’ll ever return to “CJ2K” form, Johnson’s speed would be a valuable asset for an organization looking for some big-play ability.
While Johnson’s knee, age — he’ll turn 29 in September — and potential salary demands make him anything but a safe bet, it wouldn’t be surprising to see a team take a risk and hope his upside will show with a change of scenery.
