On the same day Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton was fined for squirting Montreal Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban with water during Saturday night’s Game 5 at TD Garden, another incident involving a water bottle occurred in Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
At the end of the second period in Game 6 of the Penguins-Rangers series, New York goaltender Henrik Lundqvist squirted Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby in the face as he was skating to the bench. Crosby was in the middle of a scrum among several players that began when he speared Rangers forward Dominic Moore about a minute earlier.
