The Tampa Bay Rays have the worst record in Major League Baseball after dropping 13 of their last 14 games, so they could use a miracle right about now to turn things around — and Joe Madden is counting on that.
The unconventional manager turned to 77-year-old Seminole man Bobby Henry to change the Rays’ fortunes. Madden invited the medicine man to Tropicana Field on Monday in the hopes that he would snap his team’s skid.

“I guess this guy made it rain in Tampa in the mid-80s at some point, so I guess he’s got some supernatural powers,” Maddon said, via The Tampa Tribune. “If it rains in the Trop I’ll be really impressed. That will be his best moment ever.”
Well, it didn’t rain in the Trop, and it certainly didn’t rain any wins. The Rays fell to the Seattle Mariners 3-0 just hours after Henry wandered around the field.
It’s not looking good for Tampa Bay’s bad juju.
