Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Devon Still had some encouraging words for his daughter before she underwent cancer surgery Thursday.
Still’s 4-year-old daughter Leah was diagnosed with cancer in June. After he originally retired to spend time with her, the Bengals re-signed Still to the practice squad so he could afford her medical treatments. The Bengals’ pro shop sold thousands of Still’s jerseys for $100 apiece to support pediatric cancer research and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Before Leah’s surgery, her father continued to show his utmost support with a heartwarming video. For the caption, Still wrote, “Pre-surgery pep talk…I might be nervous and scared beyond words but I’ll never let her see it…let’s get this done!”
