Garin CecchiniThe Boston Red Sox will wrap up their final road trip of the season Sunday afternoon as they look to salvage a series split against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Red Sox will be without some power in the lineup, though, with both Mike Napoli and David Ortiz getting the day off. Napoli, who has spent more time out of the lineup than in it of late, will be replaced by Daniel Nava at first base, while Garin Cecchini will get a crack at the designated hitter spot.

After appearing in three games with the Sox this season, the Cecchini made his first major league start Friday against the O’s, manning the hot corner in place of Will Middlebrooks. He was held hitless with two strikeouts in the Sox’s win. The young third baseman will be joined by another promising youngster in the lineup, as Bryce Brentz will get the nod in right field.

Bretnz, who was one of six players recalled from Pawtucket before Friday’s game, recorded his first major league hit in the contest, doubling into the left field corner in his first at-bat.

Joe Kelly will get the start for Boston, going up against Miguel Gonzalez for the second time this month. Kelly is coming off a win against the Kansas City Royals last Sunday in which he settled down after a four-run second inning to pitch six solid frames.
