Raheem Sterling’s goal was the only thing that brought smiles to the faces of Liverpool fans Saturday.

Sterling scored a laser-strike in the Reds’ 3-1 loss to West Ham.

In the 26th minute, Mario Balotelli tried to turn and shoot, but West Ham defender James Tomkins blocked the Italian’s effort. The ball then rolled to Sterling, who blasted it past goalkeeper Adrian into the goal. Balotelli also deserves credit for thinking quickly enough to get out of the way of Sterling’s shot.

The goal was Sterling’s third of a 2014-15 Premier League season, which is only five games old. Sterling, 19, has been a goal machine for Liverpool for much of the calendar year.
