Ray RiceIn the appeal of his suspension, former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice is expected to argue that the video TMZ released of him inside the elevator was edited, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Sunday.

It is expected to be one of Rice’s “chief” arguments, according to the ESPN report.

Legal sources told Schefter the TMZ video, which shows Rice punching his then-fiancee in the face and knocking her unconscious, was a “cleaned-up, whittled down and condensed version” of what happened in the Atlantic City casino elevator.

Rice’s legal team is expected to argue that the NFL suspended the running back indefinitely based on the edited tape and not the extended version of the events, per Schefter.

The NFL announced Rice’s indefinite suspension just hours after the Ravens cut ties with their star.
