Boston College’s Teddy Doherty scored his first career game-winning goal and added two assists against RIT on Saturday night. As a result, he was awarded this week’s Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors.
This is only the second time the junior defenseman has recorded three points in a game, with the first time coming during his freshman year against UMass-Lowell.
Doherty was also a plus-four in the game against RIT, which Boston College won, 6-2.
Doherty joins Hockey East Player of the Week Steven Iacobellis from UMass and Hockey East Rookie of the Week Andrew Poturalski from New Hampshire as the Hockey East’s top players of the week.
