NBA Pulls Advertising From VH1’s Controversial ‘Sorority Sisters’

Future episodes — if there are any — of VH1’s “Sorority Sisters” will not feature any NBA advertising.

The NBA announced Wednesday that it was pulling all advertising from the show, which has received backlash for its depiction of black Greek life in an Atlanta sorority. Hallmark, Honda, Crayola and the civil rights history movie “Selma” are also among those pulling their support for the show.

The NBA made its announcement in a tweet Wednesday morning.

Despite (or perhaps because of) the controversy it has generated, “Sorority Sisters” is still part of VH1’s programming lineup, according to VH1’s website.
