The Joe Buck jinx was all too real for Dallas Cowboys fans Sunday night.
While Dan Bailey was lining up for a 41-yard field goal against the Detroit Lions in the third quarter of their wild-card game, the FOX announcer was busy heaping praise on the Cowboys kicker. Buck noted that Bailey was the NFL’s most accurate kicker, making 114 of the 127 field-goal attempts in his four-year career.
Turns out it was a bad time to bring up that little fact, though. Bailey shanked his attempt — that would’ve cut the Lions’ lead to seven — wide right just as Buck was explaining how he never missed.
