The Florida State Seminoles couldn’t get off the field fast enough.

FSU’s 29-game win streak was snapped Thursday, as the Oregon Ducks crushed the ‘Noles 59-20 in the Rose Bowl. Most Florida State players headed to the locker room immediately following the loss, which prompted ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit to criticize the defending national champions.

Herbstreit didn’t appreciate the Seminoles’ apparent unwillingness to shake hands with their adversaries. The Ducks proved beyond a shadow of a doubt they’re the better football team, and Herbstreit clearly thought FSU should have congratulated the victor rather than simply walking off the field.

In Florida State’s defense, there were some players, including quarterback Jameis Winston, who stuck around after the defeat. It’s just a shame that not everyone on FSU’s roster lost like a champion.
