The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without one of their best players this weekend.

Running back Le’Veon Bell has been ruled out of Saturday’s AFC Wild Card Game versus the Baltimore Ravens, the Steelers announced Friday. Bell suffered a hyperextended knee during Sunday’s AFC North-clinching win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Only Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray racked up more rushing yards than Bell this season. Bell totaled over 2,000 yards from scrimmage — 1,361 rushing yards, 854 receiving yards — en route to being named the Steelers’ MVP. Bell and Murray were named to the 2014 NFL All-Pro First Team on Friday.

The Steelers announced Friday that there was no structural damage to Bell’s knee, but the injury is enough to sideline him at a critical time. If the Ravens win Saturday’s playoff game, they’ll face the New England Patriots in the divisional round.

The Steelers signed running back Ben Tate earlier this week to add depth. Pittsburgh’s other running backs are Josh Harris and Dri Archer.
