Burke Badenhop’s market finally appears to be taking shape.

Badenhop has been patiently awaiting a free-agent offer this offseason after having a solid campaign with the Boston Red Sox in 2014. The Toronto Blue Jays and Washington Nationals have been in contact with representatives for the free-agent reliever, a source told FOX Sports’ Jon Morosi.

Badenhop posted a 2.29 ERA and 1.26 WHIP over 70 2/3 innings last season. The right-hander showed an ability to induce ground balls with regularity, which enabled him to wiggle the Red Sox out of jams all season. He was a bright spot amid an otherwise disappointing year for Boston.

Badenhop owns a 3.71 ERA over 350 career appearances (10 starts). He has played for four organizations — Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Tampa Bay Rays and Florida Marlins — throughout his seven-year career.
