It pays to be caught crying on national television while playing a wind instrument. No, really.

Roxanne Chalifoux, better known as “Crying Piccolo Girl,” became all sorts of Internet famous when her beloved Villanova Wildcats were upset by NC State in the Round of 32 over the weekend. Cameras caught the Nova piccolo player playing through her tears following the crushing defeat, but she’s since turned that frown upside down thanks in large part to Jimmy Fallon.

Chalifoux and her piccolo appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday night where she turned in a tear-free performance while playing the Wildcats’ fight song with The Roots. She also told her side of the story and talked about the inevitable memes that have been created before Fallon went on and made her life.

The host surprised her with a gift basket that included Taylor Swift tickets. Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, but Villanova Crying Piccolo Girl is just gonna shake it off.
