Patriots Don’t Trade No. 32 Overall Pick As Reported, Draft D-Line Help

UPDATE (11:31 p.m. ET): The Patriots didn’t trade the 32nd overall pick, as The Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young originally reported. Instead, the Patriots selected Texas defensive tackle Malcom Brown, a source told NESN.com’s Doug Kyed and the team later confirmed.

ORIGINAL STORY: New England Patriots fans have to wait another night for their team to add a player in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Patriots traded the 32nd overall pick to the Houston Texans, a source told The Boston Globe’s Shalise Manza Young. The Texans hold the 19th pick in the second round, which is the 51st overall selection.

UConn cornerback Byron Jones was selected 27th overall by the Dallas Cowboys, and Duke guard Laken Tomlinson was drafted 28th overall to the Detroit Lions. Both players had been tied to the Patriots.
