This was the fight everyone was hoping for between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao last weekend.
Canelo Alvarez (45-1-1) knocked out James Kirkland in the third round of a 12-round super welterweight bout Saturday evening at Houston’s Minute Maid Park. The knockout is just Kirkland’s second loss, and he falls to 32-2.
Kirkland started the fight strong, but Alvarez rebounded and had knocked Kirkland over three times before finally landing the knock-out blow.
