Manager John Farrell is sticking with his same lineup Tuesday night as the Boston Red Sox look to extend their winning streak to three games.
One player who will be hoping for a rebound is right fielder Shane Victorino, who went hitless in four plate appearances in Monday’s 5-4, 11-inning win over the Oakland A’s. It was Victorino’s first game back in the lineup following a stint on the 15-day disabled list.
The A’s, meanwhile, will be trotting out a heavily tweaked lineup for Game 2 of the teams’ three-game series, with just five players occupying the same spots in the batting order as they did Monday night.
Pitching to those Oakland hitters will be Red Sox right-hander Justin Masterson, who took his first loss of the season last Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. Masterson lasted just 4 1/3 innings in that start, allowing four runs on seven hits and walking a season-high six.
The A’s will counter with lefty Drew Pomerantz, who is seeking his first win since April 10.
