Tony Romo is quite the eloquent public speaker, but apparently he doesn’t like to type all that much.
The quarterback, who in the last few weeks has taken a shot at the New England Patriots with a Deflategate joke and predicted his Dallas Cowboys will win the Super Bowl, was one of the few prominent NFL players without a Twitter account.
Romo changed all that Thursday night with a groundbreaking first tweet.

Tony Romo has arrived, ladies and gentlemen.
We’re assuming that’s a reference to his jersey number, although he could just be a really big fan of a 2009 science fiction thriller about a rag doll living in a post-apocalyptic future.
Of course, Romo’s bold venture into social media also opened him up to the seedy underworld of Twitter trolls, and they didn’t pass up the opportunity.
