2015 NBA Finals: LeBron James, Steph Curry Given ‘NBA On NBC’ Treatment (Video)

As great as the original “NBA on CBS” jingle was and as solid as the current “NBA on TNT” themeĀ is (once it gets warmed up), for a generation of basketball fans, nothing can ever match the greatness of the “NBA on NBC” song from the 1990s.

Tunes aside, nothing could ever top the epic intros, right before the lasers and 3D computer graphics hit the screen.

With the 2015 NBA Finals set to begin, YouTube userĀ EYTCHESONFILM went into the archives for an old “NBA on NBC” intro that almost perfectly matches this year’s matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors. WithĀ Steph Curry taking the place of Allen Iverson and LeBron James replacing Shaquille O’Neal, Marv Albert’s voiceover from the 2001 Finals is repurposed for a new generation.

If we weren’t excited enough about Game 1 on Thursday before, we sure are now.
