Steve Weatherford caused a little stir in Philadelphia this weekend, and the Eagles are firing back.
The New York Giants punter made some comments about his NFC East division rivals’ quarterback situation on CBS Sports Network’s “Boomer & Carton” recently, and they did not sit well with Eagles center Jason Kelce. Among other things, Weatherford said he wouldn’t “want (Tim Tebow) taking snaps for (his) team,” called Sam Bradford “a Ferrari that maybe won’t be running all the time” and called Mark Sanchez “a nice Cadillac sedan” that’s “not the fastest.”
But Kelce only commented on Weatherford’s position when he called him out Monday on Twitter.
Weatherford had clarified his comments Sunday evening on Twitter, alleging that the Philadelphia media had twisted his comments to say something else.

Weatherford also responding to Kelce, urging him not to read too far into what he said. Or perhaps to read further.

If you read Weatherford’s full quotes on CBSSports.com, he has a point about being misunderstood. His comments aren’t necessarily flattering to Philly’s QBs, but his assessment of them isn’t wrong.
But, this is one of the most heated rivalries in football, so you can’t really expect either side to play nice. Especially when Philadelphia fans are involved.
