Sen. Ted Cruz: ‘Tom Brady Was Framed’ On Deflategate; ‘Hillary Clinton Did It’

Let’s face it. Texas and New England seldom are on the same side of a debate. But when it comes to Deflategate, Sen. Ted Cruz has Tom Brady’s back.

That’s what he told potential voters in Massachusetts, anyway.

Cruz, the junior senator from Texas and Republican presidential hopeful, stopped by an event in Andover, Mass., over the weekend after campaigning in New Hampshire. In a video of the event, Cruz jokingly panders to the locals.

“Let me start by saying, Tom Brady was framed!” Cruz said. “Now, I’m not willing to pander on much, but on (Deflategate), Tom Brady was framed. And I will say this, I have it on good authority that Hillary Clinton did it. Why do you think she deleted her emails?”

Ah, topical political humor. If Cruz doesn’t win his party’s nomination, at least he has a future as the next host of “The Daily Show.”
