Things are looking up for the Los Angeles Clippers, with an exciting playoff run under their belts and a deep, talented roster.
So it’d make perfect sense for the team to capitalize on the hype by unveiling a cool new logo and heavily promotingĀ itĀ to draw new interest. New owner Steve Ballmer and the Clippers did just that Wednesday, with one slight problem.
The logo isn’t really that cool.

Despite his team’s logo looking eerily like an “@” symbol, Ballmer went on “Conan” to enthusiastically promote the brand change.

He also teamed up with Blake Griffin and a few of his teammates in a humorous “Funny or Die” short.

But Ballmer and the Clippers didn’t stop there. The team launched an all-out social mediaĀ barrage Thursday morning, creating the hashtag #GearUpLA and hitting the streets to hook area fans up with some new apparel.

The whole campaign is a pretty savvy move by the Clippers, who are hoping to draw even more local fans away from the struggling Los Angeles Lakers. We just wish their logo looked a little better than this.
