Tom Brady now is moving toward what could be a lengthy legal battle with the NFL, but he has the City of Boston on his side.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell upheld the New England Patriots quarterback’s four-game suspension Tuesday, and Brady later authorized the NFL Players Association to appeal his case in federal court. And Brady has a government friend in Boston mayor Marty Walsh.

Walsh is no fair-weather fan — he grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and graduated from Boston College — so it’s no surprise he’s thrown his unequivocal support behind Brady.
