Finally, some good injury-related news.

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount left training camp practice last week with an apparent knee injury, but it doesn’t look like it will cause any long-term issues. Blount’s MRI revealed no structural damage to his injured right knee, the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe reported Monday, citing a team source.

It’s good news for the Patriots, who let both Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen walk in free agency and already are dealing with injuries to running backs Travaris Cadet, Tyler Gaffney and Dion Lewis. Blount already is suspended for Week 1 of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Steelers, giving the Patriots’ lead back some added rest should he require it.

Brandon Bolden has excelled at camp in Blount’s absence, and leads a remaining depth chart that includes one-week wonder Jonas Gray and James White.
