Cardale Jones’ benching was only half the story Saturday.
Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer replaced Jones with J.T. Barrett in the Buckeyes’ 20-13 win over Northern Illinois. The quarterback change turned heads, but the situation really caused a social media firestorm after the game based on some interesting Twitter activity from Jones.
First, this interesting tidbit started making the rounds.

It prompted an emphatic response from Jones.

But perhaps Jones was lying?

As of Sunday afternoon, Jones’ Twitter bio was blank. That’s a safe play, and one that makes sense based on his Twitter track record.
“Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain’t come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS,” Jones tweeted in October 2012, much to Ohio State’s chagrin.
But hey, at least he’s ready to turn the page on his most recent drama.

And maybe he’ll someday score that date with Ronda Rousey.
