Ian Eagle’s description of Tom Brady’s 11-yard scramble would hold a much different meaning if the CBS play-by-play announcer had a Boston accent.
Brady took advantage of a gaping hole in the New York Jets’ defense and ran for a huge first down in the second quarter Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The New England Patriots quarterback finished the drive moments later by jumping across the goal line for a 1-yard touchdown plunge.

Watching Brady, who isn’t exactly the fastest guy around, slice and dice New York’s defense with his feet rather than his arm is funny. It sparked plenty of hilarious tweets, as you’d imagine.
But the real Twitter buzz came from Eagle comparing Brady’s running ability to that of a “cheetah,” which is an interesting word choice — even if used unintentionally — given Spygate, Deflategate and various other cheating accusations made against Brady and the Patriots over the years.

Ian Eagle, don't act like you don't know what you just did there. Calling Brady a "cheetah".

To be fair, Brady jokingly compared himself to a cheetah — not a “cheater” — last season after a nifty run against the Miami Dolphins, so Eagle probably wasn’t trolling the QB. Or was he?
