In the days leading up to Sunday night’s New England Patriots-Indianapolis Colts showdown, you had to look far and wide to find any expert picking the Colts to pull what would be a monumental upset.

Unless you were watching NBC’s “Football Night in America” pregame show, that is.

Just minutes before kickoff, host Dan Patrick closed out the show by asking panelists Rodney Harrison and Tony Dungy for their game predictions. Both responded in predictable fashion.

Harrison, a former Patriots cornerback, picked New England, while Dungy, who won a Super Bowl as head coach of the Colts, made the bold choice of going with Indy.

“I’ve been wrestling with this all week,” Dungy said, “because I think the Patriots have a better team. But I’m picking the Colts tonight. I think all this emotion and energy that people have talked about, the Colts are going to have that. They’ve been embarrassed four times in a row by this team. I think they come out at home on fire and win a very tight, high-scoring game.”

Harrison’s response?

“Surprise, surprise.”
