This will be the final season for Mark Richt as head football coach at the University of Georgia.
Richt and the school reached a mutual agreement for him to step down after Georgia’s bowl game, per a press release.

The Bulldogs’ bowl game has not been determined at this time. They finished the regular season 9-3, good for a second-place tie in the Southeastern Conference’s Eastern Division.
Richt has 145-51 record (83-37 in conference play) over 15 seasons with Georgia. That run gave Richt two SEC championships (2002 and 2005) and a 9-5 record in bowl games, including a 2-1 mark in BCS bowls.
His best season in Athens was 2002, when Georgia won the Sugar Bowl, finished 13-1 and ranked No. 3 in the final Coaches and AP polls.
Mark Richt was the most gracious coach I dealt with over the past 15 years, bar none. Hate to see it end this way, but it was time.
