The jabs at Ronda Rousey on social media are bringing about some strange allies for the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion.
First, Floyd Mayweather, who has a heated history with Rousey, came out and defended her following her loss at UFC 193. And now the person she lost the belt to, Holly Holm, is also coming to Rousey’s defense.
âRondaâs been a very dominant champ and sheâs taken the sport to new levels,” Holm said during an interview with TMZ Sports. “This fight wouldnât have happened if she hadnât accomplished what sheâs accomplished, so I have a lot of respect for her.
“Donât get me wrong, I donât want to give away any bit of my victory, so Iâll take it. Iâll take the win and Iâll take that I took it dominantly. That doesnât mean that I wish any harm on her. That doesnât mean that I wish any hate on her. I think people can be pretty brutal, and when youâre in the spot that sheâs in, there are people who are just going to jump ship and I donât ever wish for that.â
