Alonso scored a stunning, long-range goal in Bayern Munich’s DFB-Pokal (German Cup) game against Darmstadt. The Spanish midfielder half-volleyed a shot straight into the top corner of Darmstadt’s goal, sending the Allianz Arena into raptures in the 40th minute.

Alonso, 34, established himself as a threat from distance many years ago, and his first goal of the 2015-16 season is proof of his enduring talent.
Bayern Munich won the Round of 16 game 1-0 on Alonso’s goal. Bayern Munich will learn its quarterfinal opponent early next week.
