Memphis Tigers defensive back Reggis Ball had two interceptions during his team’s 31-10 loss to Auburn at Wednesday’s Birmingham Bowl, but his actions following the game made all that a distant memory.
Ball went to Auburn’s sideline, got in a physical altercation with a ball boy and ran off with a football.
Auburn told its equipment staff that Ball has a history of trying to take game balls from the opposing team for each interception he makes, according to the Ledger-Enquirer’s Michael Niziolek.
Ball, a redshirt senior, was dismissed from the team after what transpired.
