FOXBORO, Mass. — Rob Gronkowski was brief with the media Friday after returning to practice.

The big tight end, who’s obligated by NFL rules to speak to the media, made a 15-second statement in the New England Patriots’ locker room.

“I’m doing everything I can to get better every single day, and it feels good to be back with my teammates,” Gronkowski said. “Just mentally, physically to be back with them out on the practice field, and any other questions, you’ve just got to talk to Coach Belichick. Thanks.”

Gronkowski returned to practice Thursday after spraining his knee and suffering a bone bruise in Week 12 against the Denver Broncos. He missed four practices with the injury.

Gronkowski’s status in the Patriots’ Week 14 matchup with the Houston Texans is up in the air.
