Stoke City finally is reaping the rewards for its investment in Xherdan Shaqiri.
Shaqiri scored a stunning goal Monday in Stoke City’s 4-3 Premier League win over Everton. The Swiss winger left Tim Howard helpless, as his shot floated over Everton’s American goalkeeper into the far corner of the goal.

Many are describing Shaqiri’s half-volleyed chip as a “Goal of the Season” contender. It’s up there with the best strikes of the season, as Shaqiri wasn’t looking at the goal when he shot.
Shaqiri, 24, joined Stoke City from Inter Milan last summer in a transfer reportedly worth a club-record £12 million ($18 million). Shaqiri failed to score in his first 17 games with the Potters, but he notched two goals in the first half against Everton.
