Contrary to fans’ popular beliefs, your favorite NASCAR drivers aren’t actually super heroes.
Jimmie Johnson and Dale Eanrhardt Jr. are challenging that notion, though.

The special cars will be part of a promotion for the upcoming “Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie hitting theaters this March. Johnson and Dale Jr. will be driving the cars in March in a #HeroFaceOff at the NASCAR Auto Club 400.
Johnson, a six-time champion, nicknamed his Superman car “Amelia” — as in Amelia Earhart, the famous aviation pioneer.
“She must have been the most daring … she sort of fits that mold of the courage and determination that you need as a racecar driver,” Earnhardt said Thursday during the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour, via Sporting News. “She must have had that and more to be able to do the things that she did in her lifetime, so Amelia was the name we came up with.”
Johnson will just have to hope Junior’s car doesn’t come equipped with kryptonite.
