The New England Patriots’ AFC Championship Game loss to the Denver Broncos affected another team that plays at Gillette Stadium: the New England Revolution.
Before the Patriots fell just short of Super Bowl 50, losing to the Broncos 20-18, the Revs proposed a bet with the Colorado Rapids that was pretty simple. If Denver lost, the Rapids would change their Twitter avatar to the Revolution’s logo, but if New England lost, the Revs would be stuck with Colorado’s.
.@NERevolution, thoughts on a friendly #AFCChampionship wager? @Broncos win = you change your avi to our logo. Bad guys win = we do the same

.@NERevolution Let's go! Loser changes their avi to the other team's logo from Sunday until Tuesday. Shake on it? pic.twitter.com/qsDoNX0tz6

Alright, @ColoradoRapids. Deal.

Obviously, it didn’t work out for the Revolution.
