BOSTON — Travis Browne, accidentally or not, caused a lot of trouble for Matt Mitrione by poking himĀ in the eye at least once during their heavyweight bout Sunday at UFC Fight Night Boston.
It caused Mitrione’s eye to swell quite a bit, making for a movie-like scene that drew a stunned response from the TD Garden crowd.

Mitrione had to pause the fight twice to seek medical attention for the eye.
Browne eventually won by TKO in Round 3 after he mounted Mitrione and unleashed punch after punch on his opponent’s head, forcing the referee to stop the bout.
UPDATE (2:44 a.m.): Mitrione tweeted an update after the fight, and it wasn’t good.
Broken orbital floor. This and the shoulder happened after the 2nd eye poke. I don't think they would've happened pic.twitter.com/wFn1NC3j5Y
