Let’s hope Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. wasn’t the only guest at his dad’s 31st birthday party. Otherwise, some of that cake might go to waste.
Ronaldo celebrated his 31st lap around the sun Friday, and the revelry included at least one giant cake. We learned as much via Twitter, where Ronaldo shared a photo of himself and Jr. standing at attention as the candles burned.

Ronaldo has received many well-wishes on his big day, including social media messages from current and former Real Madrid teammates.

What seems to be a low-key gathering for Ronaldo’s big 3-1 contrasts with last year, when he threw a 30th birthday party in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s 4-0 humiliation at the feet of crosstown rival Atletico Madrid. The jubilee reportedly caused friction at Real Madrid, and it finished the season without claiming a domestic or European trophy, while rivals Barcelona swept the biggest prizes.
Apparently, Ronaldo is growing wiser with age.
