Lionel Messi Breaks New Ground As La Liga’s First 300-Goal Scorer (Videos)
These days, Lionel Messi scarcely can kick a soccer ball without making history.
Messi scored two goals Wednesday in Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Sporting Dijon in Spain’s Liga BBVA (or “La Liga”). Each of his strikes were significant to both Messi and his club.
Messi’s first goal came in the 25th minute, when he beat the goalkeeper from distance.

Messi became the first player to score 300 goals in Spain’s La Liga. He needed only 334 games to do so. Messi set the record for most La Liga goals in November 2014 when he scored No. 253, and has been doing Messi things ever since.

Six minutes later, Messi scored the 10,000th goal in Barcelona’s history.
