There’s plenty of buzz in the NHL trade universe concerning Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson, but Bruins president Cam Neely provided a bit of concrete evidence Thursday that the team isn’t dead set on shipping his expiring contract out of town.
Appearing on 98.5 The Sports Hub’s “Felger and Mazz” show, Neely shed some light on Eriksson’s current contract situation.

“There have been recent discussions,” Neely said of Eriksson, via CBS Boston. “(GM) Don (Sweeney) sent something (Eriksson’s) way; we haven’t gotten a response yet, but there have been ongoing discussions.
“I know Don’s talking to teams about a number of different things. Not specifically Loui, but just, ‘How are we going to improve our club today and tomorrow?’”
