Curt Schilling Shares Prince Meme With Quote The Music Icon Never Said

Curt Schilling doesn’t seem to be the type of guy who allows facts to silence him or prevent him from making his point.

Why else would he share a meme in which an image of Prince that featured a quote the recently deceased music legend is believed to have never uttered publicly in his 57 years on Earth?

Schilling did just that Monday, sharing Nation in Distress’ Prince mock-up on his own Facebook timeline.

Schilling, a former Boston Red Sox pitcher whom ESPN fired last week after he shared an anti-transgender meme, has been active on social media since his exit from the broadcast giant. Many of his posts reflect his political ideas instead of his musical tastes.

Which brings us back to the Prince image.

Prince died unexpectedly Thursday, plunging much of the U.S. into mourning and musical celebration.

Using Prince’s image so soon after his passing certainly captures attention, but it also begs the question: Is this an act of self-promotion or just another instance of Schilling spreading fake quotes around the Internet?
