The Philadelphia Flyers staved off elimination Wednesday night, but they still have a steep hill to climb if they hope to topple the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Washington Capitals in their first-round playoff series.
Washington, which lost 2-1 in Philadelphia in Game 4, leads the best-of-seven series three games to one entering Game 5 on Friday night at the Verizon Center. Each of the Capitals’ last five playoff series have gone the full seven games.
