A pair of Hockey East products teamed up to put the Pittsburgh Penguins on the board Sunday night in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference finals matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning.
With time winding down in the opening period, Notre Dame alum Bryan Rust collected the puck near center ice, blew past Lightning star defenseman Victor Hedman and threw a shot on Andrei Vasilevskiy.
Vasilevskiy, the Tampa Bay goaltender, turned aside Rust’s initial bid but he had no such luck against ex-Boston College D-man Brian Dumoulin, who slammed the rebound into the back of the net with less the second remaining in the period.

To say Dumoulin isn’t known for his goal-scoring abilities would be an understatement. Sunday’s goal was just the second of his NHL career.
Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay entered Sunday night tied at two games apiece in their best-of-seven series.
