A word of advice for Twitter users out there: Don’t say mean things about 3-year-old kids, especially if you’re directing those words at their aunt.
One Cleveland Cavaliers fan found this out the hard way Wednesday ahead of the team’s NBA Finals Game 3 matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
Here’s what @SoftCaramelKiss had to say to Stephen Curry’s sister, Sydel, after her fairly innocuous tweet about traveling to Cleveland for the game (screenshot via For The Win):
Not surprisingly, the Cavs fan quickly deleted his aggressive tweet, but Sydel didn’t appreciate his nasty words for her niece, Riley Curry.
We'll be gone Friday! Bless up https://t.co/MoYnutNj7c

let's have a conversation real quick!

What followed was a lengthy back and forth between the two that finally led to Sydel responding in a since-deleted tweet, “you’re talking about my THREE YEAR OLD NIECE! I don’t take that.”
Unfortunately for this Twitter user, the saga didn’t end there. His tweet began making the rounds, and a few people notified his employer, the Cleveland-based real estate firm Holton Wise, of his offensive language. Holton Wise wasted little time in taking action.
Our apologies to all who were a party to this attack @HoltonWise does not condone this & we have terminated him

Holton Wise also issued an apology to Sydel after the incident, while the recently-fired Twitter user decided to double down.

We’d suggest this guy takes a break from Twitter for a bit. Fortunately for everyone else, actual basketball will return Friday when the Cavs attempt to even up the series in Game 4 at Quicken Loans Arena.
