Draymond Green played the game of his life Sunday night in Game 7 of the NBA Finals, finishing with a game-high 32 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and two steals. But it wasn’t enough for his Golden State Warriors to edge LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers and earn a second-straight championship.
Say what you will about Green. Much like James, you probably either like him or hate him without much middle ground. He’s an alpha dog and the ultimate competitor, and sometimes takes things a bit too far — as evidenced by his Game 5 suspension for hitting James in the groin.
But Green respects his opponents, and proved as much Sunday following the 93-89 loss by finding James amidst a crowd of celebrations and media to hug it out and congratulate him on winning the championship.

Kudos to both players on one of the best NBA Finals we’ve seen in a long time and for setting the right example when it mattered most.
