Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard probably watched a lot of Golden State Warriors basketball games growing up in northern California. But you’ll be disappointed if you’re expecting him to follow Kevin Durant and join the defending Western Conference champions anytime soon.
A Twitter user asked Lillard about potentially going home and joining the Warriors at some point, and the Oakland native gave a short, clear response.

Lillard helped revitalize the Trail Blazers franchise last season — its first after All-Star forward LeMarcus Aldridge left the team in free agency and joined the San Antonio Spurs.
The Blazers finished with the NBA’s fifth-best record and upset the Los Angeles Clippers in Round 1 of the playoffs before losing to the Warriors.
Lillard averaged a career-high 25.1 points per game last season, which ranked sixth in the NBA and just 0.2 points behind LeBron James in fifth place. Lillard also has increased his scoring average in his last three campaigns.
Lillard also has expressed loyalty to Portland by signing a five-year, $120 million max contract last summer. He doesn’t seem to want to go anywhere, and that’s good for the Blazers and the league.
He’s also a really good person.
