The San Francisco Giants need pitching, and they aren’t being subtle about it.
In fact, if you go to just about any baseball game from now until Monday’s non-waiver MLB trade deadline, there’s a decent chance of seeing a Giants scout in attendance.
The #SFGiants are blanketing the market for starters and relievers. "Name a park, and there's a Giants scout there,'' said an MLB exec.

Add #Royals to list of teams #SFGiants are monitoring. Edinson Volquez could be available as a rental. Wade Davis probably not realistic.

The Giants sit atop the National League West, but they rank ninth in bullpen ERA (3.92) among the 15 NL teams. That’s not an atrocious number, but it certainly could be improved.
San Francisco won World Series titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014 primarily because of excellent pitching. It’s a formula the Giants will try to replicate heading into October this year.
