The 2017 NBA All-Star Game needs a new host city after the league removed it from Charlotte last week because of North Carolina’s controversial HB2 law.
Right now, the most likely host is New Orleans, which last hosted the event in 2008.

Chicago last hosted All-Star Weekend in 1988, when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar set the record for All-Star Game points in a career, and Michael Jordan beat Dominique Wilkins in the most famous slam dunk contest ever.
New York City co-hosted the 2015 event with Brooklyn. The last time NYC hosted an All-Star Game by itself was 1998, when Michael Jordan vs. Kobe Bryant was the main storyline.
Las Vegas hosted the event for the first time in 2007, and it now has a beautiful new stadium, the T-Mobile Arena, to host the weekend festivities.
All four cities would make a great host.
Portland, Oklahoma City, Memphis and Sacramento are the remaining cities that’ve never hosted the All-Star Game.
