Sorry, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers fans. It looks like Russell Westbrook will stay with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported early Thursday morning that the superstar point guard is on his way to OKC to sign a reworked contract.
Sources: Russell Westbrook is flying to Oklahoma City on Thursday morning, planning to sign a three-year, $85M-plus contract renegotiation.

Sources: Thunder will likely hold a news conference on Thursday with Westbrook, owner Clay Bennett, GM Sam Presti and coach Billy Donovan.

This news, if it becomes official, would be a major sigh of relief for a Thunder fanbase still reeling from losing superstar forward Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors as a free agent last month.
The assumption by many experts was Westbrook would also leave OKC, either by trade or as a free agent in the summer of 2017.
Westbrook staying makes the Thunder a contender for a playoff spot next season and puts the idea of a rebuild on hold.
